Sports and the Arts
Sporting events, singing and other performances by the rescued children, encourages creativity, team building, building of self-esteem and confidence, development of leadership skills among others. Our karate, drama and music clubs continued to astonish many as they won accolades in numerous events and performances. A team of junior and senior girls and boys were selected to join the Kenya national Olympics karate team this year.
The MCF choirs, acrobatic teams and drama clubs show cased their talents in various gatherings in schools, churches, government and village meetings as well as ministering across Canada. Indeed one of the ongoing construction projects at Ndalani is that of a sports complex that will serve as a center of excellence in nurturing the talent of this and other young people rescued from a harsh life.
