Grandpa Arvid and Grandma Ruth invite YOU to ride with them

Have you ever been paid to ride your bike? I am offering you something even better. This year I will turn 65 years old. I will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to cycle 10,000 km, which was set by Guus Moonen from the Netherlands in 2010 at 22 days, 15 hours, and 34 minutes.

My record attempt will begin on June 28 and hopefully finish on July 20th. (I made an unsuccessful attempt of this record in 2014.) As you know, the main reason I do this is to raise awareness and funds for Mully Children's Family, a street children rescue mission in Kenya, Africa.

Here is how YOU can get involved.

An anonymous donor will donate $1 to MCF for every km YOU ride between now and the end of my GWR attempt. I am inviting individuals, couples, families, teachers, and students from across Canada & beyond to keep track of the # of km they cycle between now and the end of my record attempt in July. I also need you to donate and/or get pledges for every km you ride.

After the event, you would send your donated/raised funds, along with the km cycled, to our field office in Winnipeg. This will then activate the pledge to match everything up to $100,000.

The funds will go towards food/general operating expenses. $0.50 provides one full meal to a hungry child/adult. This is a great practical teaching activity for parents/grandparents and their children. For example, if a child cycles one km, someone will donate $1 to MCF. That provides 1 meal for 2 children/adults. If these kids then donate/raise another $1/km in pledges from their friends or families, they provide 4 meals, etc.

Our children grow up with food, shelter, education, health care, and love. The children rescued by Mully Children's Family are deserving of the same.

No amount of effort, commitment, and sacrifice on our part will ever exceed the value of a child's life created in the image of God. This includes children that have been abandoned by everyone—except God.

100,000 km cycled by YOU (and others) generates a $100,000 match by an anonymous donor. Add to it $100,000 raised by YOU (and others) and we will provide 400,000 meals for children and adults in need of your help.
