Guinness World Record Attempt for
children, like Paul…
A man on a mission with a great passion...
But he is not doing it for his own sake, he’s doing it for children facing challenges and difficulties that are far more difficult to endure than even an riding his bike a distance that feels impossible to most of us. “I believe I have a 51% chance of accomplishing my cycling goal, but with your help I know I have a 100% chance of making a difference,” said Arvid.
Each year, Arvid rides his bike to raise critical funds to save Kenyan children from a life of abuse, neglect, or without family. Loewen feels convicted to raise awareness and support the work of Mully Children's Family using his incredible gift of athleticism, and his powerful voice of love.
This year, as Arvid and his team work toward this world record, one of the stories they reflect on is that of Paul. Paul became part of the MCF last year, at age 6.
Paul’s story is a tragic one. The youngest of 3, in a family with no father.
The family lived in a slum with many transient and homeless people. The man who lived with Paul and his family did not work. He was an abuser…of drugs, alcohol, and of Paul and his family. One night, he returned to their home and set the family on fire. The boys were very lucky when the neighbours heard their cries for help and rushed in to rescue them. Their mother succumbed to burn injuries and smoke inhalation.
It is with the help of inspiring leaders like Arvid, his supporters, and friends of MCF, like you, that these miracles are possible. This year, his goal is even more inspiring. As he challenges the Guinness World Record,
a generous donor has offered to match every dollar up to $115,000.

P.S. The MCF Canada team is proud of Arvid. Paul, our Board Chair says,
“It is incredible to see Arvid’s love for the children of MCF. It’s staggering to see him cycle approx. 400 km each day through good weather and difficult weather. His faithful wife Ruth, many other volunteers and the many, many visitors provide encouragement and support to Arvid. Watching him cycle day in and day out is a testimony of how the love of God is using him to impact many lives for Christ and bring hope to the kids at MCF. Arvid’s ride is inspirational, humbling and amazing.”
