October 2024 Flood Update

MCF’s resilience and determination have truly shone during these challenging times. Staff have worked tirelessly alongside local workers, ensuring that progress is made each day. The spirit of collaboration and support has brought people together, forging stronger bonds and fostering a renewed sense of hope.

1. Yatta Dam Repairs
The Yatta dam is gradually being restored and is near completion. There is ongoing construction of new pump houses and repair of existing pumps.

2. Farm and Crops Restored
The crops have been replanted and are recovering well. With pertinent use of manure and soil drainage we hope the farm will return to it’s full productivity!

3. Perimeter Wall Repairs
In recent months the team has focused attention on construction to repair, rebuild and reinforcing the structural integrity of the preimeter walls. These efforts not only protect the premises but also to serve as a preventative for futher damage.

4. Staff Housing
Rebuilding efforts will continue with plans to construct much-needed housing for staff. The MCF staff are resilient and have incredible passion for the work they are doing!

The laughter of children can once again be heard as they have return to their studies and play, bringing life back to MCF Ndalani!
